Glass is a self-evident material. It runs through our hands daily, we look through it daily and despite its vulnerability, we are even protected by glass. In architecture and building construction glass is an indispensible component that offers many more opportunities than simply functioning as a window.

Founded in 1970, Bouwmag in the Netherlands is the specialist and market leader in Europe for total solutions when it comes to developing, supplying, processing and assembling glass blocks as well as prefab glass block elements for walls, facades, ceilings and floors.

Sustainable glass blocks

Glass blocks supplied by Bouwmag come from specialised producers in Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic, and are processed in concrete and/or steel elements in its own assembly factory located in Budel near the Belgian border. Bouwmag’s specialists assemble and integrate the prefab elements on site in the building projects.

Glass blocks from Bouwmag meet all quality requirements, are fully sustainable and can be supplied in many variations, both in colour and decoration.

Bouwmag develops, supplies, processes and assembles glass blocks and prefab glass block elements for walls, facades, ceilings and floors.
Glass blocks from Bouwmag are fully sustainable.
Bouwmag supplies glass blocks with high-level fire-proof qualifications.
Bouwmag manufactures large glass blocks that are the size of traditional bricks but with the transparency and clearness of glass.
Bouwmag has a line of opal-coloured glass blocks that are suitable for both inside and outside applications.

Bouwmag is also an experienced, authorised and certified dealer/applicator of profile glass (Pilkington Profilit).

Opal-coloured glass blocks

Bouwmag reinforces its leading position by permanent innovation. For example, we supply a line of opal-coloured (milk glass) glass blocks – both inside and outside applications possible – creating a unique opalising incidence of light. Another innovation is the processing of translucent insulation material into profiled glass elements to substantially increase the insulation value.

Thermal transmission of glass blocks has been reduced by 50%, resulting in new U-value standards of 1.5W/M2K enabling architects to use durable solutions with glass blocks.

Fire-proof glass blocks

Furthermore Bouwmag supplies glass blocks with high-level fire-proof qualifications. Massive glass blocks in the style and size of traditional bricks with the transparency and clearness of glass is the latest innovation. These full glass stones are available in four different colours and can be used to replace traditional bricks for interior and separation walls, resulting in an elegant radiation in halls, lobbies, shops, etc.

Bouwmag supplies its products to building and construction companies all over Europe and has outstanding relations with architects who apply Bouwmag products in office environments, in exclusive housing projects, in parking garages, in public buildings and many more attractive and awarded designs.
